ABOUT US

U-CAN International is an export, import and educational organization based in Toronto, Canada. It was founded in 1994 under the Jobs Ontario Provincial Job Creation Program, as a network of orgnaizations and businesses to facilitate:

the exportation of computers and accessories from North America America to institutions of Eastern Africa; Gift items' distribution of a wide variety of and or factory - made gift items within and without North America; the importation of high quality gift crafts, clothing and food items from East Africa to North America; cross - cultural education and educational work exchanges between East Africa and North America as well as internationally

OUR GOALS.

The goals of the organization include the following: job creation through the exchange of technology and culture. Market expansion for Canadian technology; Canadian factory - made gift items; African hand - made cultural gift crafts; and quality food items. Broadening of perspectives and thereby economic prospects through computer training and cross - cultural educational work exchanges. These goals are achieved through progams that are easy for organizations and individuals to participate in as well as benefit from.

OUR HISTORY.

The organization was founded in 1994 under the then provincial government's job creation program. It is operated through a network of reputable organizations and business establishments within the province of Ontario and by a competent management team with international expertese. A similar network facilitates operations in the associated developing countries of Uganda, Kenya and Sudan. A Student Association branch comprising universities and technical colleges administers computer training in developing countries and academic related exchanges among member institutions. It is operated through the academic affairs/international student representatives of the participating institutions' Student Associations.

About U-Can-International Association of Students (UCIAS).

is a Canada based non-denominational not-for-profit educational organization. It aims at facilitatating cross - cultural education and understanding thereby broadening perspectives and opportunities. The association is the educational branch of U-Can-International. It among others, facilitates the exchange of computer technology and cultural gift items between people in Canada and Africa - improving living standards through the creation of job opportunities.

OUR PROGRAMS.

The five major priority program areas of U-Can-International are as follows: North American Computer technology exports. North American textiles& gift items distributions within and without. African textiles imports. African gift crafts & food items imports. Computer training in developing countries and cross cultural educational work exchanges. These programs are self- financed from operational activities. Other funding sources include government departments, development agencies, corporations and non-governmental organizations of participating countries.
