Matthew Gray Gubler was born on March 9,
1980, to John and Marilyn Gubler. A native of Las Vegas, Nevada,
Gubler attended the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies
(formerly known as Las Vegas High School) and graduated in 1998. Shortly
thereafter, he studied at the University of California-Santa Cruz
(UCSC, Go Banana Slugs!) and transferred to New York University
(NYU) two years later.
[FYI, the last time I was at UCSC, (I was there for a film project my
senior year of high school,) my friends and I ran into and interviewed
some very unique individuals. It was actually quite refreshing. If
you’re in the area, make sure to stop by at one of the beaches,
especially during the summer – it’s bonfires galore.]
Gubler graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in
Film in 2002. Some of his work can be seen and found online or at film
festivals around the nation.
Other than directing and acting, Matthew Gray Gubler has also worked as
a model for DNA Model Management and other various designers.
Gubler is also an artist and has exhibited and sold his drawings
overseas.
According to Wikipedia, Gubler is the antagonist in Mr. Brightside by
The Killers (check out their new CD, Sam’s Town, it’s pretty good)
because he briefly dated “Jenny” after her relationship with The
Killers’ lead singer, Brandon Flowers.
