My Bikes

Last, 2002.05/10 my bike was delivered to my house. Felarof is her name. Updates about Felarof. I have renamed her as Kerstyn.

Also last 2002.12/26 i got another bike her name is Nycole.

I had this dream of riding a bike when i was still in high school, back then the contents of TV was the GREAT Wayne Rainey. I loved him the way he carves those curves, it was a sight to behold. I made a promise to myself when i get old ill get me a bike.

Then my father got a tricycle, we used it as a means of adding extra income to the family's then suffering income. (I live in a third-world country so we need every penny we can get.) It was tough times. Times still tough here in the Philippines, but were coping. It was a Kawasaki HD-III 125 2-stroke thumper. This is where i began my love affair with bikes. I learned almost everything i know about bikes during those years. I wrenched those bikes. Though i never had saddle time on it single (that is the bike, removed from the sidecar).

We had to sell the tricycle so that my parents can buy me a computer when i was in college. I studied hard, though had some failing grades. Well i dont really believe in that piece of paper given during graduation. I believe that if a person is willing he/she will achive success wherever, whenever, even if he/she has no diploma. But the world does seem to follow my thinking. Well i graduated my course, no honors, but equipped to tackle the world. Only after 5 years of working, did i remember riding. Well im at a mature age of 25 now, and have a stable job so i guess its just about to start riding.

Last May 10, 2002, my bike was delivered to my house. At first, i rode it in our garage, practicing and knowing where the controls are. Re-learning the clutch, the throttle, and the brakes. (its been around 12 years since i last riden a bike) On that day i was able to put my foot on the pegs, yey! The week after that, i rode it outside our house. It was a very exciting experience. I also got my first crash that day. I was talking to my father while i was negotiating a constant radius right turn that goes downhill. I was able to shatter my right turn signal, scrape some paint off of the muffler, and bent the brake lever. I rode it once in the next week, withoutsuffering a crash. I went three laps around our block. I havent ridden it for 3 weeks now (am protecting my ride and my limbs). Im scheduled to take a motorcycle riding course together with my father this comming July, 2002 Ill be buying my leathers soon, im just having a hard time deciding. Im currently eyeing Dainese, as there is an authorized reseller here in the Philippines.

After my motorcycle course ill keep on practicing, and then get my license and ride, ride, ride ..... ill keep ya all posted. Currently im reading some motorcycling books.

Got through Honda Riding Academy last September, 2002. It was fun. I think most of the information from lecture ive already read on the books ive bought.

Last Dec 26, 2002 i got my 2nd bike! A Kawi AR-80! At last a bike that i can flatfoot! Very light, very agile, very worn out rear tire, needed a good cleanup! I'll replace the rear and front tires once i start using it on a regular basis on my commute to work. I have wrenched her a little bit. Fixed the ligths, i put rear shocks on a higher setting, checked the speedgear (which is by the way, busted, im getting a digital thingamagochie for a speedometer, its a Targa something), replaced the bearings in the rear wheel.

Got my license!!! Woohoo! I applied last Dec. 27, 2002. I'll need to wait 4 months to get the actual card.

With my new license, i went out to venture to the neareast mall last Jan 12, 2003! My maiden voyage (outside of our subdivision!). Got the bike to run to 60kph (approx > 50mph). A very thrilling and gratifying experience! It was an uneventful trip to the mall. The only thing that i had a problem was getting to the parking area for the motorcycles!!! I went to the nearest mall, SM Fairview, which is approx 2.5k from our house. Not really a long trip, specially when running at 50kph. :)
