2007-08 Season Kicks Off The Recreio hockey season officially bullied off on a Thursday night at Happy Valley when our Ladies' "B" held Vets "A" to a 1-1 draw on October 4th. Over the next few weeks, despite last-minute postponements, the lower teams would emerge as the early front runners. After one round of matches, our Ladies' "C" are in second place in Division 4 following their promotion at the end of last season, while the Men's "C" and "D" teams lie third in their respective divisions. Fitting it is, then, that the top scorer so far is Siu Kin Wai from the Men's "D" team which, if you recall from last month's newsletter, is the younger of the two men's development teams. Well done Kin Wai. At the other end of the age spectrum is the Men's "C" team which comprises the few oldies with enough energy to run around along with some younger blood. If you add up the ages of people like Fahmy Zaman, Gerry Xavier, Henrique Souza and yours truly, we're probably older than the other three men's teams combined!
