Annual General Meeting

The Recreio hockey section held its Annual General Meeting on September 16th. The main topic was the team structure for the coming season.

Four men's teams will be fielded, with the "A", "B", "C" and "D" teams in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th divisions respectively.

The "A" team will comprise the best players from last season; the "B" will feature students from the Hong Kong University's Swire Hall; "C" will be the social team consisting the other players from least season; and the "D" team will be our main development squad with players from the university's R C Lee Hall.

The ladies will keep the same three teams from last season, and will be joined by another development team from R C Hall.

The Ladies' "A" will compete in the 1st Division, the "B" in Division 2, the "C" have been promoted to Division 4, and the Ladies' "D" will hone their skills in the 5th Division.

Good luck, everyone.

A few other items were briefly discussed during the AGM which saw a turnout of over 50 people in a meeting that lasted less than an hour.

Recreio Centenary Cup

Following the inauguration last November of the Recreio Centenary Cup, four teams gathered at Recreio on the last Sunday of September to compete for the trophies.

3rd Division champions SSSC "B" took on runners-up Valley "D" in the Bowl competition and came away with a 2-0 victory. Jocko Collaco presented the trophy to the winners.

The Plate competition was won by KCC "C", runners-up in Division 2 last season, with a solid 3-0 victory over Division champions Pakistan Association "B". Billy Dillon, vice-president of the Hong Kong Hockey Association Council, was on hand to present the trophy to the winners.

The Cup competiton will be played at a date to be announced as last season's Division 1 winners, Dutch, were not in town. The two ladies' trophies will be contested in January.
