Recreio Hockey Newsletter - February 2005

Updated - 21 February 2005

As the Chinese New Year celebrations fade into the past, we find the three men's teams all out of the cup competitions. However, they continue to do well in the league, and promotion looks a good possibility.

The ladies are also doing well, with both the "A" and the "B" winning their matches this past week. CDRA drop down one notch to third place in Division 2, equal on points with HKFC B but with one goal's difference separating them (see the tables below). Meanwhile, CDRB have gained in confidence thanks to the efforts of Mike Franco, and are holding firm in 3rd place in Division 3. The "B" is one of three teams on equal points and sitting lower than the others only through goal difference.

The tables below show where the five teams are in their respective divisions. Please note that the ladies play two half-seasons, so that the games played before Christmas are dismissed and only games in the second half of the season are taken into account.

Casa de Macau

While surfing the Net last month, I came across a site based in Vancouver, Canada, dedicated to overseas Macanese. It's a social, non-profit club that was formed in order to carry on the traditions, culture, customs and heritage for the betterment and benefit of its younger generation. The club has kindly agreed to include a link to this newsletter on its "Links" page.

Forwarding emails

"If you forward this email to a bazillion people, Microsoft will track them and donate five cents for every forwarded mail". Yeah, right! Gates gives nothing away for free.

This month, we feature jokes from Jokes Galore.com, about computers, golf, and a salesman who can't sell. Plus, Dado shares one about a church sermon.
