The Blue Bishops

A band that is almost, the best kept secret on the current British blues scene'.
I think it's about time they were revealed to a wider audience!
!!

The Blue Bishops
Featuring ex-Wishbone Ash Bassist, Martin Turner

The Bishops spend most of their playing time in Europe, where the harder, rocky edge of their blues style has a wide cross over appeal.
They appear regularly in Holland and Belgium. Their second album, "Deep" was chosen as one of Blues in Britain's "Picks of 2002".
All four members of the Bishops write music and have contributed to the new album. Their live work and this latest recorded material demonstrates a broad appeal to both young rock audiences and the more purist blues fans, and that the blues never stands still.

In the summer of '99 they opened for Taj Mahal at BISHOPSTOCK, the UK's premier Blues and R&B open air festival, to critical acclaim from the international press and the business, and a very warm welcome from the crowd. One of only four British bands on a bill of thirty, they were in illustrious company, as other artists on the bill included Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Charlie Musselwhite, Shemeika Copeland, and the The Blind Boys of Alabama.
